But you will have to know the difference between an e-commerce service provider and e-commerce sellers. Amazon, Flipkart etc are the e-commerce service provider or basically the platforms on which different e-commerce sellers will sell their products online.

First of all, you should know that GST (Goods and Service Tax) has now come in existence from July 2017 and you must have to obey the rules and regulations that will be imposed on you or your business by GST. Now we are providing you the basic steps for e-commerce business registration.
For starting your E-commerce business you must obtain a GSTIN. GST number is mandatory for E-commerce. For this, you will have to fill the registration form available on http://gst.gov.in
You can enroll under Proprietorship, Partnership, LLP, HUF etc. Opt accordingly as suits to you based on your business model.
You need certain documents like your Aadhar Card, PAN Card, ID Proof, Residence Proof, Rent Agreement (in case of rented property), Bank Cancelled cheque.
Apart from above document, you will have to choose a certain name of your Business (try to select a unique name which will be helpful to you in-case you go for trademark registration).
Now you have to create a list of products or services that you will have to sell.
We advise that hire a CA nearby you who is having a good or renowned name, they will do all these tasks on behalf of you, and they charge very nominal fees for it.
After getting provisional GST number and registration certificate first of all you have to open a current bank account (preferably nationalized bank).
You will also have to order stamp, letterhead, bill books etc. for your company.
Now just contact to seller’s support of the e-commerce giants like Amazon, Flipkart or Snapdeal. These companies charge NO-MONEY for registration. They only take a commission of each of your sale. They also provide you a seller panel through which you can easily manage all of your product from your end. They will require few documents for formalities like GSTIN, your Scanned signature, Bank account details, place of business and the products (including HD images) you will going to trade. For images, it is advised you will hire some professional photographer for photo-shoot.
These companies will also provide you some services includes processing and fulfillment of orders from their end on behalf of you like FBA by Amazon, SD+ by Sanpdeal etc. But remember these services are chargeable. These companies will also provide you expert support for your business which is also chargeable.
In case if you do not want to sell your products on these existing e-commerce platform, then you can also create your own e-commerce portal or more specifically we called it as Shopping Cart for your own business. But in this case, you will have to do some marketing and publicity initially to get the traffic on your portal. You will have to opt some courier partner for logistics services.
