Why its taboo to get married in the same clan in Hinduism

Hinduism is forbidden to marry in the same clan (gotra). According to the scriptures, Hindus are divided into eight parts. And all Hindus are seen as the sons of these eight sages. Ever since the society was conceived, marriage in the same clan is considered taboo in Hinduism.

According to the scriptures, boys and girls of the same clan are brother and sister in a way, even if their parents are different.
