Although Chaturthi Tithi comes in every month which is dedicated to Lord Ganesha, but Chaturthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month is considered as the biggest date. It is celebrated as Ganesh Chaturthi. This year the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on 10 September 2021. It is believed that Lord Ganesha was born on this day. On this day people bring the idol of Lord Ganesha to their homes and serve them for 10 days.
People have faith that by bringing Lord Ganpati ji home and serving him, he takes away all his troubles and obstacles etc. On Anant Chaturdashi, Lord Ganapati is given a farewell with the hope that he will come to the homes of the devotees next year also. Some people consider it to be only one and a half days, while some consider it to be of 10 days.
