Comparison of Rupee evaluation against Dollars from Independence

We are seeing that dollar is becoming expensive day by day. But do you know that at the time of independence, Indian 1 Rupee was equivalent to 1 US dollar? Indeed, the value of Rupees was very high in those days because India was ruled by British Government, where the economy depended on a pound, which used to be expensive from the dollar and even today, the British pound is far above the US currency.

At the time of independence, the value of 1 Dollar was equivalent to Indian 1 Rupee, which has reached 63.92 in today’s time. Today we will see a comparison between the Rupee and the Dollar right from 1947 to till today.

In this way, the price of Indian currency has come down so far in comparison to the US dollar. And as long as the Indian economy does not become strong then it will continuously devaluate.
