I want to become a Blogger: An Analysis

I resigned from my handsome salary job of ₹38000 and according to my interest, I decide to work as a Freelance Writer / Blogger. Although I had an interest in writing from childhood now I become passionate for me. When I talk all about this stuff to my family, there was a stir in the house.

My mother said If you want to write then do it, who is stopping you? But why you had left the job? When someone asks what’s your son is doing then what I replied? The neighborhood will pass sarcastic comments if you sitting ideal! And what about your In-Laws? What answer will they give to them? My Father said that life does not move with these type of rubbish decisions. Life moves with funds. You have responsibility for your family. How to take care of them by leaving a job? Well, what should we say, if you build your mindset then all of this will looks foolish for you. Somehow the house was calm and extinguished after explaining.

After dinner, when I reached my room, I saw that the son was sleeping and my better half is sitting with the swollen mouth. Do not you even need to ask me or tell me once? My wife had asked in a complaining tone. Hey, you understand me and after all, there is something called Job Satisfaction. Wife fell asleep after murmuring a couple of minutes. By the way, my decision is truly accepted wholeheartedly by one of the family member, none other than my son. He is so happy as he got his best buddy and to play with him.

Two days later, the in-laws came to my house. My mother-in-law had spoken in a sarcastic tone, Ekaansh Ji we heard that you quit the job? What is the plan for future? I told to my mother-in-law that I will now work as Freelance Writer or Blogger. She said, it is fine but what about a job? In case you do not want to do a job then start taking tuition at home. Father-in-law said that one of his colleague Sharma Ji’s son is successfully running his YouTube channel and earns a lot of it. Why don’t I start my YouTube channel?

I was speechless after hearing all these things. I was not able to understand why even today our society does not take any writer/blogger seriously. Why is being an author still an abusive? It was not from the beginning. This is India’s land where Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, Suryakant Tripathi, Munshi Premchand, Mahadevi Verma, Harivansh Rai Bachchan and many known or unknown writers and poets had born. But for the past few decades, Indian society has become more diverted towards western culture. The price of every person has been judged from his salary packages. If it continues like this then one day come when India’s literary heritage will come to zero.
